The All Blacks had one of the tries of the year chalked off against the Wallabies on Saturday after a TMO referral revealed a marginal forward pass in midfield.
New Zealand went end-to-end at Eden Park in the second half of the opening game of this year’s Bledisloe Cup in Aukland.
Fly-half Richie Mo’unga made the initial half break just five metres from his own try line and fed Anton Lienert-Brown, who linked up with Damian McKenzie on the counter attack.
The full back then set Rieko Ioane free on the left wing and the speedster charged down field to the halfway line before making a pass in-field to Aaron Smith on his 100th international appearance who fed Brodie Retallick with a short pass, which was later deemed forward by the officials.

The ball was then worked to the right wing where Sevu Reece finished off the try, which featured nine passes in total over 75 metres and went through the hands of nine different players.
Despite the try being ruled out and the Wallabies scoring two late tries, the All Blacks pressed on to beat the visitors 33-25 and full match highlights are available below:
“Discipline just allowed them back in the game so I’m sure this is going to be a big thing in the review on Monday,” said All Blacks captain Sam Whitelock. “We’ve got to make sure we carry the momentum going ahead.”
Game two of the Bledisloe Cup will also take place at Eden Park on 14 August.
