What an amazing piece of skill this was from Nick Phipps.
London Irish ran out 43-12 winner of Worcester in Brentford Community Stadium last Saturday. Irish were comfortable winners of this round 19 clash of the 2021/22 Premiership season on the weekend. London Irish currently sit in sixth in the Premiership table and could be pushing for a semi final spot. They are currently only one point behind 2021 finalists Exeter who are on 54 points.
London Irish scrum half Nick Phipps was at the fore with a ridiculous piece of skill setting up London Irish’s second try after 26 minutes. Phipps has 70 caps for Australia from 2011 to 2019. The 33 year old has scored 40 points for Australia as well as represented Australia 7s in the past.
What a score this was. London Irish set up a powerful driving maul which eventually comes to a halt. The referee has put his hand out for a penalty advantage for Irish. Phipps has the ball at the back and is under pressure from his opposite number Willi Heinz. Phipps throws a superb out the back offload to Paddy Jackson who draws the last defender to set up winger Lucio Cinti in the corner.
