Antoine Dupont sets up try of the year contender for France in their win over Scotland.
World Player of the Year for 2021 Antoine Dupont had a sublime performance for France last Saturday. France demolished Scotland at Murrayfield to keep their grand slam dreams alive. France came out comfortable 36-17 winners over Scotland in Edinburgh which edges them closer to a championship win. France haven’t won the championship since their grand slam win back in 2010.
Antoine Dupont showed why he is in the conversation for the best player in the world right now with another Player of the Match performance for France. The 25 year old Toulouse star continues to terrorise defences in both the club and international scene.
No other play from France’s win against Scotland summarises just how good Antoine Dupont is, then the opening try of the game that he set up. Watch the video below to check out this piece of magic from Dupont.
Following a kick up the middle from Finn Russell, Dupont gathers the kick off the floor and impressively beats the first attempted tackle from Scotland winger Darcy Graham. Dupont then, using excellent footwork, beats 3 Scottish defenders to break up the left hand touchline. He overpowers his opposite number Ali Price until he is dragged down by Rory Darge just inside the Scottish 22. France then play two quick phases and a lovely offload from Julian Marchant set up Paul Willemse for the opening try of the game.
France go on to tear Scotland apart and demolish any Scottish championship hopes, but this try just shows just how terrifyingly good Antoine Dupont is!
"He's a joke!
