Ireland centre Bundee Aki was shown a straight red card against Samoa on Saturday for a high tackle in the first half in Fukuoka.

Aki was second to a loose ball to Samoa fly half Ulupano Seuteni resulting in a high tackle which saw Aki’s shoulder connect with the face of Seuteni.
Referee Nic Berry showed Aki a red card following a TMO referral and the 29-year-old is now likely to miss the rest of the tournament as he faces a disciplinary hearing in Tokyo on Monday.
Ireland went on to win the game 47-5 meaning they’ve guaranteed qualification for the quarter-finals of the competition. Full match highlights are available below:
