Despite losing to bitter rivals Leicester, Saints fans still had something to cheer about, curtesy of Dan Biggar’s incredible try saving tackle.
Northampton came flying out of the blocks and were quickly 14-0 up before a brilliant Tigers comeback quietened the Franklins Gardens faithful, with the final score 21-41.
Three second half yellow cards completely de-railed the home side’s afternoon, whereas the reigning Premiership Champions only got better. Freddie Steward in particular was a thorn in the Saint’s side, throughout the 80 he was imperious under the high ball – oh and he scored a hattrick!
Within all of this action, Dan Biggar prevented a certain Tigers try with an early contender for tackle of the season.

It seemed as though Gopperth was in for Leicester’s first try but the Wales 10 showed great pace, and a brilliant rugby brain to not only get in a position to make the tackle but also to dislodge the ball from Gopperth’s arm.
Who doesn’t love a good try saver!
