Harlequins ended 2023 on a high as they secured a highly entertaining 32-26 win over Gloucester in front of a massive crowd of 76,813 at Twickenham.
Showing their full array of dazzling attacking prowess, both sides went at it hammer and tongs, much to
the crowd’s delight.
In a match that was up tempo from the off, it was little surprise that Quins halfbacks Danny Care and Marcus Smith were two of the top performers throughout.
The dynamic duo each had some sublime moments with Care getting over for a clever try in the 54th minute whilst Smith pulled the strings masterfully.
Putting their hands up to be the English halfback partnership for the Six Nations, Care and Smith proved once again that they can play winning rugby that is highly entertaining.
Such was the performance of the two that it was unlikely anyone save for possibly number eight Alex Dombrandt was going to be named player of the match.

In the end, Smith won the award, and Care’s reaction was simply priceless!
Clearly in good spirits, Care raises his arms in disbelief on the sidelines following his substitution.
During their pitch-side interview after full-time, the duo were asked about it, with Smith laughing at the reaction before going on to praise his teammate.
We can’t get enough of Danny Care’s reaction to finding out Marcus Smith was named Player of the Game š¤£
