The Waratahs scored a mouthwatering 95-metre team try in the final play of Friday’s Super Rugby Trans-Tasman opening round match against the Hurricanes.
Despite hearing the buzzer sound at Sydney Cricket Ground, Tahs fly half Ben Donaldson decided to set up a counter attack from their own five-metre line.
Donaldson fed substitute playmaker Will Harrison, who collected his own chip over the Hurricanes defence and then found a return pass to the fly half on the run.
A wide pass to the left was then switched up in midfield before full back Jack Maddocks found himself in space with 60 metres of open field in front of him. The speedster then used his pace to beat a tired defence and score an incredible team try in the corner.
The Waratahs end this tryfest with a belter after the buzzer 🥧 Hurricanes win 48-64.
