Former Welsh international Louis Rees-Zammit made his NFL debut this season as the Kansas City Chiefs took on the Jacksonville Jaguars in a pre-season match up.
Falling to a 26 – 13 loss, the reigning Super Bowl champions clearly used the outing as an opportunity to give fringe players some extended game time.
With the likes of superstar Quarterback Patrick Mahomes playing in just one series, players in Rees-Zammit’s position got plenty of game time.
Speaking about his first experience of live action, LRZ said, “It was a great first experience,” Rees-Zammit told the Irish NFL Show following the 26-13 loss at EverBank Stadium in Florida.
“I loved it, I loved getting the snaps I did, on special teams as well, which was great.
“I’ve just got to look back on this, review it and see how I can get better.
“The atmosphere was great, it was pretty electric in the stadium and there was a load of Chiefs fans, which helped massively. It was a great game and I’m looking forward to the next one.”

Whilst the former winger did not light up the stat sheet with 2 carries for 1 yard at running back, 1 reception for 3 yards at wide receiver and one kick off fielded, it was valuable step on his journey to making the active roster.
