Argentina winger Mateo Carreras had a shocker against Ireland on Sunday as he came agonisingly close to scoring a try for Los Pumas.
The 21-year-old made a break down the centre of Ireland’s defence in the opening half at the Aviva Stadium in Dublin and looked certain to score Argentina’s second try of the match.
Carreras had stepped the final defender but as he transferred the ball to hand off prop Andrew Porter he lost control of the ball and split it on the five-metre line to the delight of the home fans.

The Newcastle Falcons winger lay flat on the ground in dismay and was actually forced off the field as a result of the fall, making it a double blow for the Argentine.
However regardless of this blooper from Carreras, the Irish pulled away with a dominant performance to win the game with a record 53-7.
