This was a superb score from La Rochelle from behind their own try-line.
La Rochelle took on Racing 92 in a key Top14 clash last Saturday. Ronan O’Gara’s side claimed a 19-0 victory keeping the prolific Parisian side scoreless for the entire game. The round 22 clash was an important one for both sides as the competition has entered the business end of the season.
La Rochelle currently sit fourth in the table with the 2016 winner Racing 92, currently in 7th place. La Rochelle have never won the competition however they were finalists in 2021 losing out to European giants and current champions Toulouse. Racing have won the Bouchlier de Brennus 6 times with their most recent win coming against Toulon at Barcelona’s Camp Nou in 2016. Racing have also finished runners up 7 times.

In the key clash last Saturday, La Rochelle scored this scintillating try from inside their own in-goal area, keeping the ball alive with no phases whatsoever. The strategy called ‘keep ball alive’ (also known as KBA) is a term often coined and mentioned by La Rochelle head coach O’Gara in the past. Check out the brilliant score for yourself down below.
