Argentinian hooker Julián Montoya was caught on the ref mic calling All Blacks winger Will Jordan “a pussy” during Saturday’s Rugby Championship game in Brisbane.
The Leicester Tigers front-rower took a disliking to Jordan after the young winger attempted to strip the ball from Montoya’s arms after the Argentine conceded a penalty.
Jordan was looking to speed up play late on in the first half but Montoya simply fended the winger and said: “Don’t be a pussy. Don’t show off, you’re too young to show off.”
While Jordan didn’t react, referee Jaco Peyper simply ushered Montoya away from the All Blacks players to prevent tempers from boiling over.

In the end Peyper did not have to show a single card throughout the 80 minutes and New Zealand went on to win the game 13-36 at Suncorp Stadium. Full match highlights are available below:
Montoya made his international debut in 2014 and since then has racked up 55 caps for Los Pumas. He joined Leicester in 2021 having spent the previous four years with Jaguares in Super Rugby.
In the opening play of the match Montoya’s compatriot Pablo Matera suffered a huge double tackle straight from kick off for the second week in a row and All Blacks head coach Ian Foster was pleased with the result.
“We obviously made a few changes and to keep our performance going with the new combination was pleasing,” said Foster. “We didn’t change a lot of our game plans … I was delighted with the way we got through that.”
Captain Ardie Savea added: “I’m just glad we got the win. We knew they’d be tough today, but I’m proud of the boys tonight and as the week went this week you didn’t really notice all the changes.
“Spending quarantine together has really tightened the group and … we expect them to come out and perform.”
