A true try-saving tackle is rarely seen, but on Friday night, Harlequins full-back Nick David managed to complete two in the space of 80 minutes.
David’s side started the game well agaisnt fellow entertainers Gloucester and were quickly up 14-0 thanks to scores from Danny Care and Dino Lamb. After that however, the cherry and whites dominated terriroty yet still found themselves 21-12 down at the break.
Remarkably for two attacking teams like Harlequins and Gloucester, neither side registered a point in the second half and it reamined 21-12 to the hosts.
The scoreless second 40 was largely due to resolute defence from both sides and woven in within that was Nick David’s unebiable efforts to prevent two definte tries.
The second of which was paticualrly special, after a Gloucester interception David pinned his ears back, caught up with the attacker and pulled him into touch – class fullback play!
