Australian schoolboy rugby takes centre stage once again with episode two in the sixth series of The Season. This instalment follows Brisbane Boys College camp on the Sunshine Coast in the lead-up to the opening round of Queensland GPS.
Sadly, like many around the world, sport in Queensland has been forced to come to a grinding halt in the face of a global pandemic. Many national and international sporting codes, at all levels, have had to issue statements like the following:
“Following a meeting (today) of the National Development Panel, Rugby Australia along with the State and Territory Member Unions have unanimously agreed to postpone all Community Rugby until the first week of May, effective immediately.”
“This recommendation covers rugby matches, rugby training, and face-to-face rugby education courses.”
Even in the face of uncertain times, it’s good to temporarily get lost in some form of normalcy with this series, however short-lived it may be. Hopefully, this and every other competition can get back off the ground very soon.
