A duty-free shop in departures at Dublin Airport trolls Welsh fans with hilarious advertising following the 29-7 defeat to Ireland in Six Nations opener.
It was not a good opening day to the 2022 Six Nations for Wales as they fell to the hands of an Irish bonus-point victory at the Aviva Stadium. The wait for the flight home, should’ve been about forgetting about the result in Dublin. However, The Loop, a duty-free shop in Dublin Airport decided to take advantage of Ireland’s comprehensive performance.
Irish Head Coach Andy Farrell will undoubtedly be pleased with the result and most certainly their second half display against the champions to kick off their Six Nations campaign. Ireland set the tone early on in the game, scoring the first try inside three minutes, when debutant (and player of the match), Mack Hansen, assisted Connacht teammate Bundee Aki to score in the corner. From then on, Wales unfortunately, never looked like recovering.
A second half yellow card to centre Josh Adams certainly didn’t help the visitors cause. Ireland racked up 4 tries in the end, which included a brace for Munster winger, Andrew Conway.
This well spotted advertising board in Dublin Airport, was a hilarious dig at the relatively large margin of defeat handed to Wales in the opening round. Ireland travel to Paris this weekend ro take on France, while Wales take on Calcutta Cup holders Scotland in the second round.
