Sharks scrum half Sanele Nohamba received one of the biggest hits of the season against Western Province in Saturday’s Currie Cup semi-final clash.
Nohamba was given a shocking hospital pass from his fellow number eight Sikhumbuzo Notshe which left his ribs exposed to a brutal shot from Western Provence winger Angelo Davids.
Nohamba getting the worst hospital pass I’ve seen in a long time 😭😭😭

The collision is simply huge and would leave most players in serious pain on the ground, but Nohamba was able to slowly get back to his feet and continue.
Questions have been raised by the commentary team and fans on Twitter about the legality of the tackle as Nohamba was in the air as he took the ball, but the challenge was deemed OK by the officials.
In the end it was the Sharks who won the game 9-19 in Newlands, Cape Town meaning they will progress to the final of the competition due to take place on Saturday, 30 January.

How was Nohamba tackled in the air not a penalty?

Solid hit on Nohamba. But wasn’t that in the air or doesn’t the rule count when it’s a pass? Educate me @LynchCoach
