Wallabies lock Lukhan Salakaia-Loto has received heavy criticism for his “dull” red card against Argentina on Saturday.
The Queensland Reds second row came off the bench for Rob Simmonds in the 51st minute and was sent off just nine minutes later for a high shot on Los Pumas flanker Santiago Grondona.
Salakaia-Loto’s shoulder made contact with Grondona’s head leaving referee Angus Gardner no option but to show a red card.

Former England and Gloucester winger James Simpson-Daniel described the challenge as “dull” on Twitter.
Such a dull red card in the Aus vs Arg rugby game. Players have to learn you can’t go high. Do the same tackle around the waist #AUSvARG

The game finished 16-16 at Bankwest Stadium meaning the Wallabies have finished bottom of the Tri-Nations and full match highlights are available below:
REACTION:
Salakai-Loto why does he even go in like that. It’s daft
Argentina 13-9 up and now a Man up with 21 left. They’re in the pound seats now

Salakai-Loto’s red card is one of the more depressing sights. #reviverugby #AUSvARG
