A new rugby ball has just been announced, with bold claims that it will help youngsters in their quest for the perfect spin pass. The design, patent-pending, features spirals that work as a visual aid to assist in getting that perfect pass.
A company called Gazapi launched it’s rugby ball training aid this week, aiming to help rugby players of all ages, as the design gives immediate visual feedback on whether it’s a quality spin pass or not.
Following extensive research, school sports director David Robinson has developed a range of practice and match balls suitable for all ages from minis through to adults.

After many years of coaching, Robinson realised that the art of the spin pass is one thing that was always a challenge for youngsters.
“Having coached rugby to youngsters across all age groups, one of the hardest skills to teach and master is the spin pass. I thought if I could design a rugby ball which gave a visual representation of what the ball was doing in flight then we could have a good idea,” he said.
“The response and results have been amazing, youngsters can quickly see how a change in their throw impacts on how the ball behaves, in a very short space of time we’re seeing massive improvements.”
The balls are available from size 3 up to size 5 via their official website at gazapi.co.uk.
