Rugby’s answer to the Premier League returned this weekend as the Top 14 hit our screens with wall-to-wall action from the off.
As ever with a new season, there were plenty of new faces in new places, namely former England captain Owen Farrell, who made his Racing 92 debut against Castres.
Starting at flyhalf, the former Saracens stalwart slotted four conversions for Stuart Lancaster’s side in their 31 – 28 loss to Castres.

In what was a highly entertaining clash, the result hung in the balance with thirty seconds left to play with Racing holding a two point lead.
Flipping the script, Castres would break Racing’s hearts with a superb try from winger Christian Ambadiang, who outmuscled the Racing fringe defence to dive over in the right-hand corner.
Whilst this score will rightfully garner the plaudits in the media this week, the winger also had a huge moment defensively that has been doing the rounds on social media.
Tracking back following an interception by Racing fullback Max Spring, the winger covered a huge distance from the opposite flank to hunt down the rapid fullback.
