We get sent a lot of different videos these days. Great tries, hits, funnies and bloopers. This one falls into the latter category, as it’s right up there for comedic value.
It took place at the end of a 7s match in the Czech Republic between Sparta Praha and Rugby Club Bystrc.
Sparta Praha had a player sent off so with a lead of 17-5 with time just about up in the second half, they conceded a quick try that gave Bystrc (in white) some hope at 17-12 down.
With just seconds left, Bystrc restarted and Sparta won a penalty, signalling a chance to kick the ball out and win the game. Unfortunately, that’s where things went comically wrong, as Sparta effectively snatched defeat from the jaws of victory.
