Scotland closed out their Autumn Nations Series on a high note at BT Murrayfield as they put Argentina 52 – 29.
The win was a significant one for Gregor Townsend’s side who narrowly lost their previous two fixtures to Australia and New Zealand respectively.
Pulling the strings for Scotland was Finn Russell who was recalled to the squad following the Australia defeat.
The Racing92 playmaker was everywhere as he tormented Los Pumas from start to finish.
Making Russell and Scotland’s job easier was the Argentinean’s horrendous discipline which yielded four cards as they were shown an early red to backrow Marcos Kremer before three more yellow cards were dished out.
As the doling out of cards would indicate tempers were at breaking point for much of the game which had the BT Murrayfield on the edge of their seat.
Alongside a massive brawl there were some all-time sledges being thrown around, a number of which were caught on the ref mic.
The best of the lot had to be from Julian Montoya to Scotland’s South African born winger Duhan van der Merwe.
Standing face-to-face with a number of Argentineans, van der Merwe was getting stuck in when the Pumas captain delivered one of the best one liners were have heard on a rugby pitch.
Montoya initially appears to tell van der Merwe to back off which he duly ignores before the hooker says “Do you want me to speak Afrikaans!”

The Edinburgh winger couldn’t help but crack a smile but the Pumas captain wasn’t done there as he then laid into Scotland captain Jamie Ritchie with some brilliant comments.
